We are not fancy. We are an old farm house that is a warm, dry place for you, your family and friends to stay. Enjoy the sights and best hunting in Central Montana.  We are 15 miles from the small town of Winnett, which offers gas, a bar and grill, a general store with groceries, sporting goods and hardware, a school, a swimming pool, several churches, and more. The closest airport is Billings, MT which is 100 miles to the south. 

We are an hour from the Missouri River Breaks - prime elk hunting, and the Musselshell River is to our East.  The bunkhouse and cabin are on a 1000 acre working hay and cattle ranch, surrounded by open hayfields, creek bottoms, springs, draws, and hills. Which all makes for excellent deer, antelope, coyote, prairie dog and bird hunting!

You Must Bring Your Own:
  • Food (available in Winnett)
  • Drinking Water (available in Winnett)
    (If you've stayed before - we have now upgraded our well, and while the water still isn't to everyone's tastes, it's now safe to drink and cook with. We'd still recommend you bring some nice drinking water for your stay.)
  • A sense of adventure!
Please Note:
  • Dogs are allowed (but not on the furniture, please!) 
  • Cell-phone service is spotty. Un-plug and un-wind.

  • 2 Twin Beds and Bedding (sleeps 2)
  • Heat
  • Electricity
  • No plumbing, share bathroom with bunkhouse.
  • Approx. 70 ft from the bunkhouse.

Inside the Bunkhouse:

In the Bunkhouse:
  • Beds & Bedding for 10 adults. (8 beds, two are doubles.)
  • One full bathroom with shower
  • Heat, Electricity & Water for Washing. (bring drinking water.)
  • Kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, coffee pot, and microwave.
  • Pots/pans, dishes, cups, cutting boards, and eating utensils are provided.
  • Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, and Towels are provided.
  • Basic WiFi & Roku TV

Block Management Hunting

The McKenna Ranch is enrolled in the Block Management Program for hunting access. 
​You do not have to be a guest of the Bunkhouse to hunt on our ranch.
